This morning, we’ve seen reports from the Italian media claiming AC Milan are interested in the signing of Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Japhet Tanganga.
It was claimed the Rossoneri’s board wants a couple of reinforcements for their defence, and since he fits the profile, they made a phone call to his agent this week.
It turns out website TuttoMercatoWeb now reports there’s heavy competition for Milan coming from the Premier League for the signing, and that’s Newcastle United.
The outlet writes that the Magpies, who already competed with Milan for the transfer of Sven Botman, now want Tanganga as well.
Newcastle are said to be ‘ready to take’ the Tottenham player on a loan with an obligation to buy.
This formula is said to be ‘very welcome for Spurs’, who are looking to give the player a way out of the club this summer.
TuttoMercatoWeb writes that Tanganga’s track for Milan now gets ‘complicated’, making it clear it’s Newcastle who are closer to landing the 23-year-old at this stage.
It’s just not said how much the Magpies would like to pay for the permanent move of the Tottenham player.
