Newcastle United have an agreement for the signing of Watford forward João Pedro, according to reports from Brazil.
UOL writes that the Magpies have now ‘closed’ the signing, with the Hornets accepting the last £25m offer.
The agreement between Newcastle and Watford still include £5m in add-ons, with the Vicarage Road side getting 10% of a future transfer.
The Brazilian is set to sign a five-year deal with the St. James’ Park’s side.
It’s said the talks started at £17m, and Newcastle have been improving their bids to get to an agreement with Watford.
It’s also reported that the move had a big help from João Pedro himself, as he’d been excited with the Magpies’ project and ‘insisted’ he wanted to change clubs.
The Brazilian joined Watford on a €4m move from Fluminense in January 2020.
In his time with the Hornets, he had 14 goals and five assists in 78 appearances, and the relegation to the Championship last season certainly was a motivation for this summer exit.
