Newly purchased by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, Newcastle United are slowly but surely gearing themselves up for a busy January window, as they will look to give Eddie Howe some new toys to play with in hope he save them from relegation.
Among the arrivals, some expect a statement signing to be made, who could be none other than Aaron Ramsey, once of Arsenal fame.
The Wales midfielder is currently stranded at Juventus, where Max Allegri doesn’t really count on him, and Newcastle could offer him a way out all the while allowing him to keep his high wages.
The Serie A side want to sign a new midfielder in January, with Denis Zakaria top of their list, and Calciomercato explain that ‘an exit is needed already during the next market to make room, especially in wages, for a potential new purchase’.
The ‘main suspect’ remains Ramsey, ‘who is no longer part of the plans and is courted by several English clubs’.
They don’t name any, but Juve Live do, following the same train of thought, that the Welshman needs to leave to make room for Zakaria.
In fact, they state that clubs in the Premier League are ‘insisting for his return to England’, with ‘Newcastle in pole position’.
Look, we know it’s repetitive and all, but it’s a story that makes some sense and it’s one they will push until he either leaves for somewhere else or it actually happens.
Brace yourselves, Newcastle fans, because this is what it’s like to support a club that has money to spend on the transfer market.
