Yet to be used by Newcastle United this season, Javier Manquillo could soon be on his way to a new club, according to reports from the Spanish media.
Outlet Estadio Deportivo today writes that as Cadiz are after a player for the right-back position, the 28-year-old shows up as the ‘most liked option’.
Their report explains that Manquillo hasn’t been getting any playing time at Newcastle, who signed Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid last January.
It’s said the Spaniard ‘wants to play’, and therefore would ‘not see an exit with bad eyes’.
Estadio Deportivo claims the ‘most viable’ option for Cadiz to sign the player would be a loan deal because they already have two other right-backs in the squad and wouldn’t like to buy a new one at this time.
That’s why it’s said the negotiations would not be easy, since Manquillo’s salary at Newcastle is of €2m, and that would need to be split between the two clubs.
Now, since the player was even left out of the bench in many of the Magpies’ recent games, perhaps the club would make his exit easier by helping out Cadiz, which could, in turn, potentially lead to a permanent transfer away from St James’ Park for the defender.
