Following all the rumours from Portugal linking Sporting midfielder Matheus Nunes to Newcastle United, we now see something about it coming from Brazil.
UOL columnist Bruno Andrade today features a piece talking about the market value the player now has, as he could move for €40m in the next summer.
That’s when he points out a couple of clubs who are interested in Nunes, and one of them are said to be the Magpies.
It’s claimed that Newcastle ‘officially sought’ the Portugal international back in the January transfer window.
With the midfielder continuing to do well at Sporting, now his price is likely to raise, and that’s why the Lions already decided his price tag of a minimum of €40m.
In case Newcastle are still interested, they better be aware of the heavy competition, because as written in the report, Manchester City have now been following him as well.
He’s protected by Sporting with a release clause worth €60m.
