Earlier this week, we saw Newcastle United first getting linked to São Paulo midfielder Pablo Maia.
It was claimed in the Brazilian media that the player’s agent confirmed that the Magpies have been sending scouts to watch the youngster’s evolution lately.
It turns out that Newcastle’s interest is now backed up, this time by website São Paulo Sempre.
Journalist Daniel Perrone writes that the Magpies are one of the clubs who have been ‘monitoring’ Maia’s potential.
Newcastle aren’t alone in the race, though, because the same story claims the likes of Atletico Madrid, Fulham, Nottingham Forest and West Ham United all want the 21-year-old as well.
Now in case those clubs are about to place their bids for Maia, it seems São Paulo have already set a price for a summer sale.
Globo Esporte today also features a story about the midfielder, and they claim that the Tricolor will be willing to negotiate him as long as they receive offers worth around €15m.
English clubs tried with smaller bids in the past, and São Paulo have been holding for the summer window for the ideal sale.
