It’s often the case that when things are going extremely well then there’s a sudden turn, particularly in football, and it appears that’s happened for Newcastle United youngster Yankuba Minteh.
He’s currently on loan at Feyenoord and has been shining but 1908.nl report he’s now set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a muscle injury.
Minteh joined Newcastle in the summer but was immediately sent out on loan to Feyenoord to get regular playing time, develop his game and establish himself in European football.
He’s been doing just that so far, with a series of impressive performances in the first team and even claims from the Netherlands that his abilities are a key factor in Feyenoord’s title chances this season.
His forward trajectory has now been brought to a sudden halt, though, with 1908 reporting that he will be missing for ‘several weeks’ with a muscle injury.
Minteh picked up the problems in the clash with Vitesse on Saturday and had to be substituted 15 minutes before the end of the game due to the injury.
He’s now facing a spell on the sidelines, with Feyenoord and Newcastle presumably hoping that he can bounce back quickly and continue where he left off when he does return.
