AC Milan are in ‘serious danger’ of losing defender Sven Botman after Newcastle United ‘entered the race’ for his signature.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the delay in Milan’s takeover has opened a window for Newcastle to get their man.
They explain that the Magpies have made a ‘new, very strong, relaunch’, described as a ‘new super offer’ in the headline, for the Dutch defender after trying to sign him in the January transfer window.
They had given up their hopes of getting the defender because Milan were closing in on his signature, but the Italians have not managed to finalise it.
They’re limited because of an impending takeover at the San Siro, and that’s given Newcastle the chance to make a ‘new offensive’.
They’ve now returned to the fight, making offers to both the player and his club, Lille, in an attempt to put themselves at the front of the queue.
Their economic proposal is higher than Milan’s, both to the French club and the player, who, despite having given his availability and priority to Milan, will consider a move to the Premier League.
