Even though most of the transfer stories this week are about what’s going on in the final days of the January transfer window, we also get to see a couple of pieces about the moves which will be left for the summer.
Today there’s an interesting one coming from Gazzetta Dello Sport, who claim Newcastle United are interested in the signing of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
The outlet says there are ‘sirens’ from the Premier League, as agents and intermediaries are already working on potential moves for him.
It’s claimed that Newcastle, who failed to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina, continue to look for a centre-forward and now ‘look’ at the Nigerian.
Gazzetta is still not sure about how Napoli will react to a potential sale in the summer, but what they do know is that club president Aurelio De Laurentiis will ‘not make discounts’ and should only consider the offers of above €70m.
It’s claimed those numbers are ‘not impossible’, especially after his exciting start of season, with nine goals and two assists in 16 appearances so far.
Now we wait and see if Newcastle would pay that much.
