Newcastle United and Liverpool are today back to getting linked to Torino defender Perr Schuurs.
The story comes from the Italian media, where TuttoMercatoWeb writes about Napoli’s quest for a replacement for Kim Min-jae.
It’s said the Serie A side are interested in Schuurs, but they may need to face the competition from Newcastle and Liverpool.
The Magpies and Reds are ‘just the latest teams’ who have been keen on signing the 23-year-old, as he’s ‘one of the most coveted’ defenders in Europe.
And there’s more to that competition, since AC Milan are also said to be ‘ready to forcefully’ enter the auction for this transfer.
For now, TMW does not mention a price for Schuurs. The player left Ajax for Torino last summer for €9.4m, and is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €25m.
Newcastle have been linked to the defender for a while now, with reports even claiming the Magpies made an offer for him, but he would actually not be keen on the move, as that destination ‘does not appeal’ to him.
Liverpool’s ‘strong interest’ is also not new, although it seems they are yet to make a move for the signing.
