Newcastle United and Leicester City are in the picture to sign Real Betis’ Nabil Fekir in the summer, according to Fichajes.net.
The attacking midfielder’s contract expires in 2026 but the La Liga side know they won’t be able to keep him after this season. Therefore, they are open to selling him and have set a €30m asking price.
Fekir’s suitors include Newcastle and Leicester as these are the clubs that ‘want’ to sign him in the next window.
The Magpies failed to sign the Frenchman last summer since they were not able to reach an agreement with Betis. Eddie Howe’s side are back in the mix for him and they’ll ‘make one last attempt to close’ his transfer after this season.
Newcastle will have to be wary about Leicester as they are also showing interest in the player.
The Foxes could see James Maddison move elsewhere in the summer. If he were to leave, Leicester have identified Fekir as the target to replace him as the Frenchman’s profile is liked by Brendan Rodgers.
Betis want €30m to sanction Fekir’s sale and it would not be difficult for either Newcastle or Leicester to meet their demand.
