For the past few days, reports coming out of Spain have talked about Newcastle United interest in Real Betis star Nabil Fekir.
On November 10th, TuttoMercatoWeb stated the 29-year-old is open to making a switch to the Tyneside club.
Fichajes.net on Friday have a report on the attacking midfielder, discussing Newcastle’s interest and the La Liga side’s stance on his possible sale.
At the start of this year, the France international signed a new deal with Los Verdiblancos. Fekir’s contract now expires in 2026 and the report states Manuel Pellergini’s side ‘think about his transfer’.
That’s because the Spanish club are going through financial problems and have to sell some of their players in order to make new signings. The ex-Lyon man’s sale can help the La Liga side as he is ‘one of the most valuable assets’ of Real Betis.
Pellegrini’s side, as per the report, have placed a price tag close to €30m on the player. This will be the minimum fee they will demand to sanction his sale.
When discussing his suitors, Newcastle are named.
Fekir, for his part, ‘handles offers’ from the Premier League, where Eddie Howe’s side are in the mix. It’s claimed the Magpies could ‘launch an offer soon’ to secure his services.
