Newcastle United were credited with an interest in Serhou Guirassy in the last window but didn’t manage to take him away from VfB Stuttgart.
The Bundesliga side would be pleased to have retained the striker, who has excelled this season, managing 16 goals and two assists from 10 games. His fine displays have seen him end up on the transfer agenda of several clubs, including the Magpies.
That’s according to Bild, who explain Newcastle and Atlético Madrid are ready to compete with AC Milan for his signature.
In fact, the report states the former two are ‘hot’ on the 27-year-old, for a potential deal in the winter market.
Back in September, the Guinea international said he would be open to a move to England. Bild points it out and add that he can ‘fulfil his dream’ of playing in the Premier League, if he were to join Eddie Howe’s side.
It’s claimed the Bundesliga side haven’t received any concrete offers so far but his agents have started working behind the scenes. The frontman’s contract expires in 2026 and Bild state it includes a €17.5m clause valid for January.
This makes it a ‘bargain price’ for Newcastle and Atlético, who are keen to sign Guirassy in the next window.
