The biggest news around Newcastle United right now is of course the Unai Emery situation.

Over the past day the story has gone from the former Arsenal manager potentially taking Magpies training on Thursday, to the Spanish media insisting he’s now rejected the Premier League club.

Emery is said to be frustrated that everything was played out in public, and especially on the day of an important Villarreal match.

Back in the more optimistic world of transfer rumours, Super Deporte say Newcastle United and Juventus are the two clubs ‘most interested’ in signing Isco from Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side would be ready to facilitate his exit, as has seemed the case for over a year. The 29-year-old has a contract expiring at the end of the season, although the insinuation is that he’d be allowed to leave earlier.

According to the claims, Isco would be content with either Juventus or Newcastle, as both clubs would give him more time on the pitch. Cold, hard reality would suggest he’d prefer a move to Turin than a Premier League relegation battle, although a lot could depend on the length and terms of contract.
