The English media linking Aleksandar Mitrovic with a return to Anderlecht has made the news in Belgium, but there hasn’t been a great fanfare welcoming it.
Such a transfer, especially on a permanent basis, would be considered very unlikely, and therefore the same goes for Anderlecht considering it in the first place.
Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad report Mitrovic returning from Newcastle United to Anderlecht is ‘almost impossible’, and that doesn’t seem to be too devastating news for followers of the club.
Newcastle United are said to be looking to recoup a ‘significant proportion’ of the €18m they paid Anderlecht, and will only consider a loan if permanent options fail.
Het Nieuwsblad say ‘offers’ have already arrived, with one being from Fenerbahce and not yet living up to Newcastle’s expectations.
Whilst it’s thought in Belgium that a move has a reasonable chance of happening, that’s not going to be to Anderlecht, as far as the claims are concerned, which suggests perhaps that route has been tried already.
