Earlier on Friday, we covered the latest public statement from Adrien Rabiot on his future amid links to Newcastle United.

The midfielder continues to be named alongside the idea of a potential move to St James’ Park, as he is set to be a free agent in the summer if he doesn’t renew with Juventus.

Unlike some who will not sign a new contract with their clubs, this situation is a bit different, as the 27-year-old does still have the door open for a stay, but just doesn’t want to talk about it now.

That’s a but frustrating for his club, but also interested sides, like Newcastle, who would likely want to try and sort something out sooner rather than later.

This leads us to an article from Fichajes, who state that the Frenchman has become the Magpies’ ‘top signing’ idea for the summer transfer market.

Newcastle are said to be ‘very interested’ in bringing the player to the north of England, as it would help ‘reinforce a squad’ that has had a great first half of the campaign under Eddie Howe.

It’s even stated that Max Allegri, Rabiot’s manager at Juventus, has ‘given the green light’ to the operation, although why he would do that is a bit strange since the situation is out of his hands at this moment in time.

Either way, Newcastle ‘want to continue to strengthen their squad’, and the former Paris Saint-Germain player is on their list.
