Earlier this month, Sky Deutschland reported Newcastle United have scouted RB Leipzig duo Amadou Haidara and Dominik Szoboszlai several times in recent months.
Bild now takes a look at Leipzig players who could change clubs in the summer.
Haidara and the 22-year-old attacking midfielder are included in the list and both are on Newcastle’s agenda.
With regards to the Mali international midfielder, Bild questions if he can go to England in the next window.
After coming close to joining Crystal Palace last summer, the report states Newcastle are now showing interest in the 25-year-old. Leipzig haven’t received any offers for Haidara so far.
On May 15th, the player refused to confirm to Bild that he will still be at the club beyond this season. Using his earlier comments, the outlet states his ‘thoughts to change [clubs] had become public’
Szoboszlai’s deal lasts until 2026 and includes a €70m clause which needs to be exercised before July 15th. Despite this, Leipzig are relaxed about his contractual situation. Their chief, Max Eberl, also had a chat with his representatives.
Even though Newcastle are in the picture, Bild state they haven’t officially registered their interest in Szoboszlai with his employer.
The Magpies seem to have positioned themselves to sign Haidara and Szoboszlai. Time will tell if they will take further steps to sign either of them in the summer.
