Newcastle United are expected to return for Fabian Ruiz in the summer, if Corriere dello Sport are to be believed.
The Italian newspaper, looking at what the future holds for the Spaniard on Tuesday, point out that his contract expires in 2023, which means this summer is the final chance for Napoli to sell him if they don’t want to miss out on any money.
The common belief is that he won’t be renewing, with that particular situation ‘frozen’, and there will now be ‘eventual offers’ in the summer.
The first name on that list are Newcastle, as Corriere recall they made a bid for him ‘in January’, but other big names are also on the case, although they seem to stem from the ‘English tabloids’ more than anything.
In the end, only one of either Barcelona or Real Madrid would ‘truly make him happy’, but that still remains to be seen, since we all know money talks and the prospect of an ambitious project like the Magpies’ could go a long way to changing his mind.
