Newcastle United are among several sides ‘attentive to the situation’ of VfL Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix, according to Jeunes Footeux.
The centre-back is in his second term in Germany and has continued to excel in the ongoing campaign. He has started in 29 league games this season, missing only one tie due to injury and four more cause of suspension.
His performances for Wolfsburg have helped the 22-year-old maintain a ‘good rating’ in the market, especially in the Premier League, where Newcastle United are in contention.
It’s claimed Eddie Howe’s side are ‘interested’ in the ex-Sochaux defender for the summer window. That’s about the only information the website provides regarding the Magpies.
The Frenchman’s deal expires in 2025 and his current market value is set at €20m. The report states it is unlikely he will leave the Bundesliga side for that price in the upcoming window.
However, Jeunes Footeux are certain that Lacroix will ‘not be retained’ if Wolfsburg were to receive an ‘interesting offer’. There isn’t anything to state what figure will be deemed ‘interesting’ by the German club.
