Website CalcioMercato.it features today a long piece about Italian managers who could soon be on their way to the Premier League. These are Maurizio Sarri, Gian Piero Gasperini and Gennaro Gattuso.
The three coaches are said to have English sides looking for them, even though some of these clubs already have that position fulfilled. That’s the case of Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
According to the report, Newcastle and Wolves are both interested in the signing of Gennaro Gattuso, and could take the manager away from Napoli in the summer.
Wolverhampton’s chase for the coach is said to be ‘consolidated’ already, since their partner Jorge Mendes also works as the manager’s agent.
Meanwhile, Newcastle’s chase for Gattuso is said to be something new. Calcio Mercato says the Magpies have expressed their will in having the manager ‘in the past few hours’.
The report says both clubs are ‘ready to change managers’, although they bring no more details on potential dismissals of Steve Bruce and Nuno Espírito Santo.
Gattuso’s contract with Napoli expires at the end of the season, and the manager is already expected to leave the club for a new job in the summer.
