Newcastle United were reportedly one of the few clubs who had officials in the North of Portugal watching Porto’s league game against Belenenses last night.
Newspaper Record says ‘the bad weather, the day and the late schedule’ didn’t attract many scouts, but the Magpies officials were firm on the job.
Although Newcastle have been scouting Porto several times in the past few months, and clearly have a target there, the Portuguese press still can’t point out who the target has been.
But there were a few players who may have impressed last night, as the Dragons had a great performance to beat Belenenses 3-0.
Midfielder Jesús Corona had a big night creating several chances for the home side, including an assist to open the score. Winger Yacine Brahimi, as always, was responsible for most of the attacking plays on the wing, and scored his seventh league goal this season.
Other Porto players such as defender Éder Militão, left-back Alex Telles and midfielder Hector Herrera have all impressed as well.
