It seems that the Paul Pogba to Manchester United transfer is holding a few other deals up, including that of Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle.
The Championship player, who demonstrated his ability on the international scene in the latter stages of this summer’s Euros, is widely expected to leave his current club, but only if the fee is right.
Juventus are very interested in his profile, as he would be an ideal replacement for Paul Pogba, but they face strong competition from Real Madrid if Tuttosport are to be believed.
According to the Italian newspaper, Zinedine Zidane and Florentino Pérez would be happy to pay around €35m (just under £30m) for the Newcastle star.
Considering the Geordie club’s valuation of Sissoko currently stands at around £35m, Madrid might still have a bit of negotiating to do, but if they can’t get Pogba, then an extra £5m might be a worthwhile investment if they see Sissoko as a viable alternative.
As for Juventus, they are currently playing second fiddle to the La Liga giants, but if Madrid were to start looking elsewhere, fully expect them to jump at the opportunity.
