It’s not quite the case yet, but there’s a reasonable chance that over the next month Newcastle United will be one of the Premier League clubs picking up the most rumours around Europe.

With a takeover pending and fans getting excited, there are already claims coming from England, Spain, France and Italy about what could happen next for the Magpies.

Arturo Vidal is a big part of that.

ITASportPress, part of the Gazzetta dello Sport group, believe that Vidal could snub Manchester United, and instead head up to Newcastle.

That’s because the Barcelona player had a good working relationship with Max Allegri, and the Italian manager has been linked with Newcastle for some weeks. The bond between the two men, after their success together at Juventus, is said to be ‘strong’, so if Newcastle appoint Allegri, that gives them an advantage.

For Inter Milan, this could be bad news. Antonio Conte wanted Vidal in January and Inter’s interest seems far more real than anything coming from Old Trafford.

This is just rumours getting carried away with themselves, and a taste of the inevitable to come.
