There was a brief period where it seemed that Jens Cajuste was heading to Stade Rennais from FC Midtjylland.
Of course, that might still happen, but French journalist Loïc Tanzi, working for RMC Sport, is claiming there is hope for both Newcastle Untied and Brentford FC, who are also after the young Swede.
The defensive midfielder, who has five caps to his name for Sweden, is a target for both the Magpies and the Bees, and with Rennes currently short on money, a door has opened for Steve Bruce and Thomas Frank.
It’s stated the Ligue 1 side ‘need to sell before upping their offer’, meaning that ‘during this time, Newcastle and Brentford are looking to move forward’ for the defensive midfielder.
The 21-year-old is seen as a priority for Rennes, meaning they will likely do their all to sign him, but there is now a window of opportunity for the two English sides, meaning they need to act quickly if they want to bring Cajuste to either St James’ Park or Brentford Community Stadium.
