Newcastle United have entered the picture to sign Empoli’s Kristjan Asllani this summer.

Three days ago, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà took to Twitter to report the Magpies have joined AC Milan and Inter Milan in the chase for the midfielder.

He had also made it clear that Newcastle United have only carried out a survey for the 20-year-old.

Another report from Alfredo Pedullà provides a fresh development on this case, focusing on the Serie A winners and the Tyneside club.

It’s said Newcastle United are interested in the Albania U21 international and are ‘asking for a meeting’ with Empoli. As per the report, these negotiations will ‘almost certainly’ be held next week.

Apart from the Premier League side, Alfredo Pedullà explains there is strong interest from AC Milan.

Inter would like to take him this summer, while the Rossoneri would let him rejoin Empoli on a loan deal for one season. This would suit the latter.

The outlet further explains Asllani, with a ‘great present and even brighter future’, prefers to continue in Italy. With Newcastle also interested, Alfredo Pedullà adds ‘all the roads are open’ for the transfer.
