On June 1st, Bild stated Newcastle United are showing ‘strong interest’ in Dean Huijsen. The Magpies are now joined by Liverpool in the chase for the Juventus player.

That’s according to Calcio Atalanta, who mention Newcastle and Liverpool when discussing Atalanta’s interest in the defender.

Juve are keen to sign Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners and are ready to offer Huijsen as part of the deal.

La Dea will face ‘fierce competition’ from Newcastle, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund to sign the 19-year-old. The Europa League winners have to be cautious as these three clubs can ‘steal’ the centre-back in the summer window.

Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to explain that La Dea haven’t made progress after making initial contact for the Spain U21 international last weekend.

He adds Newcastle, Liverpool and the Bundesliga side have asked for information about the Juve player in the ‘past few hours’.

Huijsen’s deal lasts until 2028, and Di Natale says Juve will need an ‘important offer’ of at least €30m to sanction his sale this summer.

The youngster spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at AS Roma.
