A few days ago, Takvim stated Newcastle United’s scouts would be in attendance to watch Fenerbahçe’s Ferdi Kadıoğlu against Kayserispor on March 4th.
The fullback scored his first goal of the season in his side 2-1 win over Kayserispor at the weekend.
His performance seems to have has pleased Newcastle. According to the latest report from Takvim, the Premier League side’s officials wrote ‘very positive reports’ about the 23-year-old.
The Dutch-born Turkey international wasn’t the only one followed by the Magpies’ scouts, but the details of other players tracked by them aren’t mentioned.
Since the start of last season, Kadıoğlu was moved to the fullback/wing-back positions. The 23-year-old has operated on both sides of defence this season, managing a goal and three assists from 22 league matches.
Kadıoğlu’s contract expires in 2025 and he can also operate in midfield. Fenerbahçe are determined to collect €25m for him. Even though none of his suitors are willing to pay this, the Turkish club believe it could be achieved in the next transfer window.
With Newcastle and other clubs following Kadıoğlu, it’s likely that he could be sold in the summer.
