Fotomac have reported Tottenham Hotspur’s Vincent Janssen hasn’t responded to therapy and the edema (the abnormal accumulation of fluid in certain tissues within the body) on his right foot is showing no signs of going despite medication.

The Turkish newspaper say the player has gained almost 3 litres of fluid because of the edema, and club’s medical staff are trying to figure out what is causing is this.

Janssen’s injury has been very mysterious to the Fenerbahce medical staff, who have continuously been sending his notes to various healthcare organisations around Europe.

According to Fotomac, Fenerbahce’s medical staff believe some infection or blockage on his foot is causing the edema, but the exact reason has yet to be found. The 23-year old has played just 13 games for Fenerbahce since joining on loan from Tottenham last summer.

This will be a concern to the Premier League side if they want to cash in in on the Dutchman this summer, and it’s looking very unlikely the Turkish side will keep him for another season due to his injury problem.

Janssen is expected to be ruled out until April due to his injury situation, but there’s often contradicting claims on his situation. Last week there was said to be fresh hope after a new diagnosis and treatment plan from Tottenham, but now it’s all turned to gloom again.
