Whilst it’s no secret that Barcelona would like to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City in the summer, the Catalan media now seems to be finding new reasons to back that up.
The latest story comes from Sport, and claims that the Portuguese international’s tactical understanding could give him a specific role at Barcelona.
It’s said that while Barcelona seem to struggle with the number nine position, as Robert Lewandowski is now turning 36, Bernardo Silva could be a solution for that.
Sport points out that Pep Guardiola made that decision at Manchester City many times, and that could be copied at Barcelona.
In fact, the story sounds so excited about that possibility that it even points out that Silva could have a similar role to what Lionel Messi had at the club.
Barcelona have been in love with the Manchester City player for a while now, and they clearly have the local media’s backing to make that signing.
It now remains to be seen whether they’ll pay the requested price for his transfer, especially because Paris Saint Germain were recently said to be in the race for him as well.
