It’s been an intense couple of days for Jules Koundé.

Over the weekend, claims from the Spanish press stated Manchester Ciy made an offer for him, and Sevilla turned it down.

A bid was confirmed by club director Monchi today, who claimed that the amount was not enough to take the defender out of Spain.

And now it seems the player himself is asking for his sale to be negotiated, according to claims from Spanish TV this afternoon.

Journalist Josep Pedrerol, from the El Chiringuito de Jugones show, says the 21-year-old has request Sevilla continue speaking with City regarding the transfer.

The reporter adds that the La Liga side have already rejected an offer of €65m which included Manchester City player Nicolas Otamendi. That would be the second offer, after the first, of €55m, was rejected.

With the player asking Sevilla to negotiate his sale and Monchi confirming they’ll keep listening to bids for him, that’s basically an invite for the Premier League side to keep trying.

Monchi also made it clear that selling players when good offers arrive is the club’s strategy and has served them very well in recent years, which could be him getting fans ready for a sale which will disappoint them.
