Hurriyet report Fenerbahce manager Erwin Koeman has asked the club’s leaders to get a loan deal for Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Zinchenko was linked with a move to Fenerbahce before Phillip Cocu’s sacking last month. The Dutch coach had worked with the Ukraine international during his loan spell at PSV and was keen to be reunited with his former player.

Despite the departure of Cocu, Hurriyet report Fenerbahce’s new manager Erwin Koeman has told the club’s board that he still wants the Istanbul club to pursue the Manchester City man.

The 21 year old’s versatility would be a huge bonus for the Istanbul club and Hurriyet say Koeman is keen to work with the youngster because of this. Last season the Ukrainian filled in at left back for Pep Guardiola due to the long term injury to Benjamin Mendy.

However, it’s unlikely Zinchenko will get many chances this season for the Premier League champions and may need to go out on loan, or leave permanently, to get more playing time.
