West Ham United midfielder Nikola Vlasic is ‘waiting for good news’ as he hopes for the club to strike a deal with Torino for him to leave.
That’s according to Sport Italia, who say there are ‘new contacts’ between West Ham and Torino over a permanent deal for the Croatian midfielder.
He’s spent the season on loan with Torino this season and been a key player for them, so much so that they are determined to get him on a permanent basis this summer.
They’ve elected to not take up an option to do so, though, instead preferring to re-open talks with West Ham in the hope of getting Vlasic for a lower figure.
That does not mean the desire to sign Vlasic has diminished or anything of that nature, according to Sport Italia, they just want a different deal.
Indeed, both them and the player would like to continue working together but so far haven’t been able to strike a deal with West Ham.
Their latest offer is for €9m plus bonuses but the Hammers have set the price at €15m, although €13m might be enough for them to agree.
Either way, the distance between the two clubs is there and even though it is not much, it is a problem that means new talks are required.
Those could happen next week, with Vlasic left ‘waiting for good news’ as he continues to hope he’ll be allowed to return to Italy next season.
