Sergio Reguilón has returned to Tottenham Hotspur after a disappointing loan spell at Atlético Madrid last season. He was restricted to just over 300 minutes of action from 12 games due to injuries and poor form.
That hasn’t stopped the 26-year-old from drawing interest from Spain and especially Real Sociedad. They are looking to bolster the squad after qualifying for the Champions League and have identified Reguilón as a target for the left-back position.
AS on Monday explain the steps taken by the La Liga side to sign the Tottenham player, who has ‘never stopped’ being in their plans.
The first contacts between Real Sociedad and Spurs took place in June, where the former tried to find out about his situation.
The report states the San Sebastian club have also made contact for Manchester City’s Sergio Gómez and Paris Saint-Germain’s Juan Bernat.
It’s claimed the Spanish club have reactivated contacts with Tottenham and now there are ‘signs of [the deal] prospering’ for the former Real Madrid man.
AS provide no further details on why there are ‘signs of prospering’ following the ‘new contacts’ between the two clubs.
It’s also not made clear if Real Sociedad are looking at a loan deal or to buy Reguilón.
