Clearly far from Carlo Ancelotti’s plans at Everton, Cenk Tosun needs to find himself a new club.
Various avenues have been touted for the Turkish player, ranging from a return to his home country to playing under Sam Allardyce at West Bromwich Albion.
A new one, it seems, is a move to Russia, with CSKA Moscow keen on what the 29-year-old has to offer.
Reportedly trying to temporarily offload Adolfo Gaich, the RPL side are ‘showing interest’ in Tosun, according to ‘a source close to the English club and a source familiar with the situation’ who spoke to Championat.
It’s stated CSKA ‘may start negotiations with the British’, while it was further added by the sources that Everton ‘were unlikely to hinder his departure’.
While that last part isn’t surprising, it remains to be seen whether the chance to play in Russia is something that would interest the Toffees man, with the Moscow side currently four points off Zenit with 19 games played so far this season.
