At this rate, it’s probably easier to list the names of clubs Jonathan Calleri hasn’t been linked with, as we seem to get a new one every single day.
The Argentinean forward, who signed with West Ham on a year long loan from Deportivo Maldonado, is likely to follow in Simone Zaza’s footsteps and finish the season somewhere other than the London Stadium.
On Tuesday, the player was linked with a move to both Sao Paulo in Brazil and Las Palmas in Spain, and Wednesday now sees Corriere dello Sport claiming Calleri is a target for Sampdoria in Italy.
The Serie A side are looking for an alternative for Ante Budimir, who could return to Crotone, and while River Plate’s Sebastian Driussi is top of the list, Slaven Bilic’s summer mistake is the alternative in case they cannot lure the former away from Argentina.
Despite already being registered with two different clubs this season, Calleri has only played for West Ham, meaning nothing should stand in the way of a transfer away from the Hammers, which was a worry for La Provincia on Tuesday who reported the player had agreed terms with Las Palmas.
Clearly keen on a transfer, it seems Jonathan Calleri is having a hard time choosing the club he wants to go to.
Either that, or no one actually wants him.
