Claims about David Luiz’s contract renewal with Arsenal continue to pop up in the foreign media.

Earlier today, we covered an interview from Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira saying the defender is about to sign a two-year deal with the Gunners.

Now the Brazilian media comes up with similar information, as journalist Jorge Nicola brings a few updates on his Youtube channel.

He first says that several Brazilian clubs have been in touch to sign the 33-year-old, but he isn’t keen on returning to his home country anytime soon.

Regarding Arsenal, Nicola brings different information from the one which has been out in the English media. Contrary to reports claiming the contract is about to expire, the journalist says the defender’s deal with the Gunners runs until 2021, and the club want to keep him for one extra season now.

It’s said ‘it wouldn’t be a surprise’ if he signs an extension in the next few days.

A deal until 2022 is the same thing Luis Filipe Vieira said, so perhaps David Luiz’s staff is sure he’s renewing his commitment to the Gunners.
