The South American media continues to report that Watford youngster Jaime Alvarado has agreed a move to Brazilian side Athletico Paranense.

This time it’s El Espectador who bring the news. Contrary to previous reports, they say the 20-year-old is moving on a one-year loan deal.

Alvarado had been playing in the Spanish third division for Badalona, and that’s why the move is seen by the Colombian media as a ‘big jump’ in his career.

Athletico Paranaense have been fighting for big things in Brazil, recently winning the South American Cup and the Brazilian Cup. So he should get some quality time in this new spell.

Alvarado comes from Watford’s youth ranks and had three loan spells in Spain, having played for Real Valladolid, Hercules and Badalona. He’s never had a chance to play for the Hornets.

Since they’re loaning him out again instead of letting him go on a permanent move, perhaps the Vicarage Road side still have plans for his future.
