Turkish newspaper Posta report Fenerbahce have made Aston Villa’s Mbwana Samatta their priority for the summer transfer window.
Yesterday we covered claims from Turkey that the Istanbul side are interested in the forward and could make a loan offer.
The Yellow Canaries will be in the market for a striker, with the club’s first-choice forward Vedat Muriqi heavily linked with a move away.
With Muriqi potentially leaving, Fenerbahce are planning to sign at least two strikers for next season, and Posta claim Samatta is high on their list.
It’s reported the Turkish side will be looking to sign him permanently in a cut-price deal if Villa are relegated from the Premier League, but they could make a loan offer even if Dean Smith’s side manage to beat the drop.
The striker has only managed to score one Premier League goal since arriving from Genk in the January transfer window.
Samatta’s contract with Aston Villa will expire at the end of June 2024.
