Now nearly all the countries know whether they’re going to the World Cup or not, the question turns to which players will get on the plane.

For Belgium that question is more interesting than it is for most, with the country having a wealth of talent far greater than its size and previous stature in international football.

That means some well known footballers face a real battle to make sure they’re in Roberto Martinez’s squad, and one of those is Everton’s Kevin Mirallas.

Already this week, Belgium’s DH pointed out Mirallas’ chances are weakening, with it being unlikely both he and Divock Origi will get a place in the next squad, unless there’s more than one injury in the attacking positions.

Belgian newspaper Der Standaard say that whilst Martinez seems to like Mirallas, he ‘never gets match minutes’ with Everton, seeing him slip behind others.

With 21 Premier League minutes so far this season under Ronald Koeman, Mirallas may consider a January exit from Everton, especially if the 30 year old is desperate for a World Cup place.
