Earlier on Wednesday, we covered an article stating that Trabzonspor had reached an agreement with both Southampton and Mislav Orsic regarding a move.

That will have been following some talks, but nothing official had taken place, like a written offer, but that has since changed.

This comes via Asist Analiz, who took to Twitter to break the news that Trabzonspor had announced to the KAP, which is the Public Disclosure Platform where ‘all the information and documents that are required to be publicly disclosed must be sent’, that ‘negotiations have started’.

This means Southampton and the Turkish side have officially kicked off talks for the Croatian forward, who arrived at St Mary’s back in January, but was barely used after that.

Therefore, we can expect some progress to take place in the next couple of hours, or days, with this transfer now well on its way.

Should this go through, Orsic would leave Southampton have made a grand total of five appearances over three competitions, with just six minutes played in the Premier League.
