Heavily linked with a departure from Manchester United, Anthony Martial is now said to have a favourite option for the January transfer window.
According to Marca, the 26-year-old has been convinced by Sevilla and has the Nervion side as a ‘priority’ for the winter market.
Martial is said to be an ‘old wish’ from club director Monchi, and even though they are not expected to make many signings, he’s one of the options on the table.
The operation, however, won’t be simple. Both because the Frenchman isn’t a cheap player, with Marca saying the price for the loan is ‘very high’, and there’s also the competition from the likes of Barcelona and Juventus.
Still, with Martial apparently attracted by the idea of joining Sevilla, that could certainly help them to get the signing done.
RMC journalist Loic Tanzi is also reporting Sevilla interest, saying ‘negotiations are progressing’ for the player to leave this winter.
Martial only has 10 appearances for Manchester United this season, with 359 minutes played.
Despite having a contract with the Red Devils until 2024, with an option for an extra year, his agent has made it pretty clear that the Frenchman wants out, and that’s the main argument used by clubs who want him in January.
