Antony is clearly enjoying life since his exit from Manchester United in the winter transfer window.

The winger has impressed during his loan stint at Real Betis so far, scoring four times and assisting just as many times while playing only 11 games in all competitions.

It is a superb run of form for the Brazilian, who barely made a mark at Manchester United beyond his bright early spell.

The 25-year-old has now spoken to DAZN in Spain about his situation and he was asked about his time at Old Trafford.

Antony made it clear that he has no ill-feelings towards Manchester United and he is still grateful towards Erik ten Hag.

He said, as relayed by Estadio Deportivo: “If they pay that kind of money for you, it’s because you have talent and quality. Wherever I go, I’ll always speak highly of United. I’m very grateful to the club and to Erik ten Hag for what we experienced together, for the titles, and for everything I’ve learned.

“I had difficult times there, but also very good ones. I think it prepared me to be here today, enjoying myself. My mind is here, and I’m very happy.”

Speaking about his time at the Seville club, Antony said that he feels happy at Real Betis and it reminds him of being in Brazil.

“I found myself, I needed to find myself and be happy. I needed my family to be happy too. Every day that goes by I see that it was the best decision I could have made. I’m enjoying the city, the club and everything.

“It reminds me a lot of Brazil because of the sun, the food, the people are also very happy. All of that is important for someone like me who is used to it.”

It is clear that Antony does not want to burn any bridges with Manchester United and perhaps somewhat, although it doesn’t sound like he envisages a future at Old Trafford.

His form is certainly impressive but due to Ruben Amorim’s insistence on playing wing-backs and not wingers, the ex-Ajax player doesn’t appear to suit the Portuguese manager’s system.
