Valencia have taken the ‘necessary steps’ to sign Stoke City star Bojan, reports Super Deporte.
The Spaniard has been linked with a move back to Spain over the past few days, after failing to get regular enough playing time at the Premier League club.
Super Deporte say Bojan is well aware of Valencia’s interest, and would also be interested in signing for them, despite their ongoing struggles in the league. Valencia want to make reinforcements in January, but have found it difficult to convince players.
Bojan, however, is said to be keen on returning to Spain, and it remains to be seen if Stoke City would want to part ways with him in the middle of the season.
The former Barcelona man was on the scoresheet in his last match against Leicester City, but has started just five games in the league this season. Bojan has a contract until 2020 at Stoke City, and the Premier League club certainly won’t be forced to sell him in January.
As Valencia stumble around looking for value replacements, perhaps Bojan was always a likely target. However, the footballer has seemed happy at Stoke and perhaps a move to Valencia would come with too much pressure, as the Spanish club look for a saviour.
