Whilst Aston Villa supporters won’t be enjoying the current rumours regarding Jack Grealish and a potential move to Manchester City, the rumours about potential incomings will be more welcome.
The Premier League club clearly have a long term project in place and have no intention of being a club bouncing between the top division and the Championship.
Grealish’s exit would be a big blow, however the finances will help other signings arrive at the Birmingham club.
One player linked repeatedly is Mikkel Damsgaard, with the Sampdoria man also finding himself linked to several other English clubs so far this summer.
ClubDoria46 say Sampdoria now expect a ‘maxi offer’ from Aston Villa, with it said Villa have already written their offer down, ‘sealed the envelope’ and now just have to present it to the Serie A club.
Should the offer be good enough, and €35m is the suggested price, then Damsgaard will be seen as a ‘necessary sacrifice’.
