Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso ‘wants to leave’ the club this month, and Antonio Conte has told him he is free to do so.

That’s according to journalist Gonzalo Tortosa, who says the player has been ‘offered’ to several clubs in an attempt to get rid of him.

Lo Celso has been something of a disappointment for Tottenham since arriving in a £28.8m deal from Real Betis in July 2020.

He was the star of the show for the Spanish side but has not hit the same heights in England, struggling to establish himself under Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho or current boss Conte.

Indeed, he has only managed seven appearances and 215 minutes of football under the Italian so far this season, and it seems he is not happy about the situation.

Tortosa reports that Lo Celso ‘wants to leave Tottenham’ and has seemingly asked the club to make it happen.

An exit has been approved by them and Conte, who has told the Argentine that he is ‘free to leave’ should he wish to do so.

So far, the midfielder has ‘been offered’ to several clubs, including Sevilla, although the Spanish side are, for the moment at least, ‘not interested’ in a deal.

That could always change before the end of the window, of course, with Lo Celso now a name to keep an eye on in the coming days.
