Napoli midfielder Allan is hoping that Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti will make a move for him before Friday’s transfer deadline.
That’s according to Il Mattino, who say the midfielder wants to link back up with the Italian coach at Goodison Park.
According to the newspaper, Ancelotti contacted Allan earlier this month asking whether he would want to join him at Everton.
The Blues are keen to add a central midfielder to their squad, with injuries having limited their options significantly in that position.
Allan is tempted to accept an offer to move to the Premier League as he considers his time at Napoli over. His family also want to move elsewhere as well.
Thus, his agents are aware he ‘wouldn’t say no’ to the chance to leave, and they have even postponed signing a new deal at Napoli because of his ‘temptation’ to go elsewhere.
So far there has been no further contact from Everton, though, and that’s left the midfielder ‘hoping’ that they will send an offer to Aurelio De Laurentiis in the next 72 hours to try and force something through last minute.
Unfortunately for him and Everton, it seems unlikely that a move will happen with Il Mattino stating that ‘barring improbable surprises’ he is likely to stay at Napoli.
