Calcio Mercato have pushed a story about Newcastle United star Ayoze Perez.

They recall the Spaniard’s entire career, since his time at Tenerife, when his skills attracted interest from big clubs such as Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Now despite his good season at Newcastle, Calcio Mercato says the chase from these clubs is gone, being unlikely for the player to have another chance to play for the Spanish giants.

There are, however, some other sides who would be interested in signing the 25-year-old. One of them would be Napoli, who had him as a target last summer.

But the more ‘concrete hypothesis’ would be Real Betis, who already tried to sign Perez in 2018 and could be back now. Calcio Mercato says the player deserves a club in the upper half of the league, and maybe the Spanish side could be the perfect destination for him.

Whether they’d match the fee Newcastle would want is a completely different question.
