Pulling off what many thought was the impossible on Wednesday night by knocking out Paris Saint-Germain from the Champions League after losing 2-0 at Old Trafford, Manchester United players and fans had every right to be happy.
Not wanting to leave the away section, the Red Devils’ travelling contingent made themselves heard while the RMC Sport panel tried to dissect what had happened a few minutes prior on the pitch.
The fans weren’t the only ones jumping around, with the likes of Paul Pogba and Patrice Evra celebrating in the stands, even goading some of the local fanbase, which didn’t go down so well.
The former defender, who was part of Manchester United’s official delegation and others close to the Premier League side are said to have been ‘almost arrogant’ in their joy in the tunnel after the game.
Speaking to RMC Sport, a source close to Paris Saint-Germain said: “It was too much. It was also because it was in front of everyone. They were shouting, dancing. They could have done it in their dressing room.”
Already reported has been the fact Neymar tried to break into the referee’s box to have words with the match officials, while Nasser Al-Khelaifi allegedly took his frustration out on a door.
It’s fair to say this might take some time to blow over in Paris.
