Since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri at Lazio, it’s inevitable to see some Chelsea players being linked to a move to the Serie A side.
Following a few reports about an interest in the past, the latest on the Serie A side’s interest in Ruben Loftus-Cheek shows up today, reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Lazio are expected to lose Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the coming months, and the Chelsea player is said to be ‘much more than an alternative’ to replace him.
Gazzetta claims that Loftus-Cheek has actually been ‘in the sights’ of Lazio since last summer, when Sarri was already ‘restructuring’ their midfield.
Now he’s back on the table.
Despite pointing out that Loftus-Cheek has a valuation of €20m, Gazzetta claims he could actually join Lazio on a loan deal.
It’s said the developments in the club’s sale ‘will affect his future’, so it sounds this is a case which would develop over the course of the summer.
His contract with Chelsea runs until 2024.
