Leeds United could have an advantage to sign River Plate goalkeeper Conan Ledesma in the summer window, according to Estadio Deportivo.

The Argentine spent four years at Cádiz CF before joining River Plate last summer but the move hasn’t worked out for him. To put it in context, he’s been limited to five games, and that includes one appearance this year.

Estadio state he isn’t ‘willing to tolerate’ being a backup at River Plate and will return to Europe in the next window.

Leeds and several clubs are mentioned, and the report discusses the stopper’s preference for next season.

Both Deportivo Alavés and Celta Vigo showed had the stopper on their radar in the winter market. He also received strong interest from an unnamed Mexican club, but the 32-year-old wasn’t keen.

According to the report, the possibility of joining Leeds United is the one ‘liked the most’ by the player’s entourage.

Estadio state the Whites’ interest isn’t new and relay claims made elsewhere about their interest. Back in January, we covered claims from Argentina that Daniel Farke’s side were in the picture to sign Ledesma.
